Description for Unbridled Spirit
“Wow”: That just might be your reaction as you drive up the mountain road and see Unbridled Spirit perched among towering trees. The hand-built log home is a beauty from the outside—and just as gorgeous inside, which a cathedral ceiling and luminous wood-planked floors and walls. What’s more, with five en-suite bedrooms, an eight-person hot tub, and a game room with a Nintendo Wii among its amenities, the house is a comfortable, restful retreat that can sleep up to sixteen people. Please note, there is a minimum two-night stay required.

Each of the five bedrooms—four upstairs and the fifth on the main floor—can be considered a master suite, which makes Unbridled Spirit well suited for multiple couples or families vacationing together. Each has a king-size bed, a private bathroom with a combo shower-tub, a TV with a DVD player, and a delightful view of the surrounding woodlands. The main-level bedroom has a bonus: a whirlpool tub in its bathroom.

In addition, a sofa in the great room opens into a bed for two, as do two of the couches in the upstairs game room. There’s a good chance the kids will want to sleep in the game room even if there’s an available bedroom: The airy loft space includes not only a full-size pool table but also a multi-game arcade—think of the Frogger and Galaga marathons!

The great room on the main floor is easily as spacious as the game room, with a towering ceiling and a double-height wall of windows that let you savor the view from just about any seat. And there’s seating a-plenty: three roomy, cushiony sofas ideal for watching a movie (Unbridled Spirit offers free HBO, Showtime, Stars and Cinemax) on the 50” flat-panel TV with DVD player while basking in the warmth of the stone-surround fireplace.

Like the great room, the dining area can accommodate a crowd. The lustrous American oak dining table easily seats up to twelve people. There’s also a smaller dining table that can accommodate four—and makes a handy spot for checking emails or playing cards. Need more room? The kitchen island doubles as a breakfast bar and can seat four more. If you’re vacationing with kids, you could serve them dinner at the smaller table or the island while the adults enjoy a quieter, more leisurely meal at the dining table; we’re sure the kids won’t mind, especially since they can head upstairs to the game room when they’re finished!

The beautifully equipped kitchen might spur you to new culinary heights. As well as appliances galore—including a refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, a blender for whipping up margaritas or milkshakes, and the all-important dishwasher—it offers a wealth of gleaming granite counter space and loads of storage. You can stock up on groceries at the start of your stay, rather than make daily trips to the supermarket; this will leave you with more time to laze in the hot tub!

You can cook and dine outdoors as well. The deck is home to a gas grill and a dining table. There’s a smaller pub table too, perfect for enjoying a nightcap under the stars. And let’s not forget that eight-person hot tub: When you return from a day of skiing, hiking, or whitewater rafting, you’ll relish a restorative soak among its steamy bubbles!

You could happily while away your entire stay without leaving Unbridled Spirit. But then you’d be missing out on everything the area has to offer. The house is just four miles from the Greenbrier entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park; in fact, Unbridled Spirit overlooks the seven-mile ridge known as Greenbrier Pinnacle. And if you’re a golfer, you’ll be delighted to know that the house is adjacent to Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by Masters and British Open winner Gary Player.

While Unbridled Spirit is just a short drive from many of the area’s attractions, keep in mind that it is on a mountain road; in winter you may need chains on your vehicle or four-wheel drive. Regardless of the season, though, the home is a haven from the everyday—and what’s more relaxing than that!

Beautiful property with all the required amenities
Grest spot and very well equipped. Had a couple of minor issues - maintaining the fridge at a medium temperature was an issue - it froze everything. The 2 back bedrooms only had one blind, so I hsd to move a couple of blinds from the master bedroom to get that straightening out.

Wonderful for family get together.
Everyone enjoyed their stay. The cabin creaks quite a bit so the downstairs bedroom may be loud at times but that may just be a cabin thing. We commented over the kitchen many times. There was more than enough room for multiple people to have their own prep areas! The kids loved the game room, and the got tub was wonderful too. Perfect place for the memorial of my mom. We relaxed and remembered her life in comfort. It was perfect. There are tiny things wrong. I only say that because I thought it was brand new and was worried I would get blamed. Several family members work with rental places in Destin and said most likely just new to the rental market and to not worry. I did.

Lovely, well-appointed cabin
Two families of 6 easily stayed in this beautiful cabin. The kids had a blast running around the cabin and playing with each other. During the day we rafted, hiked and zip lined. After all that activity, it was nice to come back to a lovely, well appointed cabin. Every night the kids went in the hot tub while the adults prepared dinner and relaxed with drinks. It was a very comfortable way to travel and see the Smokies. We had some issues with the video game system, but a repair guy came and fixed that. I recommend it and would absolutely go back. Especially if you have children/big families. Only criticism would be that, when they say check out is 10am, they mean 10am. We had young children with us and accessing the cabin after they locked it (to retrieve loved items accidentally left) turned into a somewhat of an ordeal. One other point, the kitchen could have been better stocked (house was advertised as sleeping 16, yet only had 9 forks).

As advertised. Enjoyed our stay with surprisingly few issues.
We had five couples who were all family. Instructions, maps and move were smooth.  Loved the VR Pros App. Made it easy to find any information for the stay. Negative feedback from the group included: the slow speed or even availability of the wi-fi. Some floors were not clean with some having large black streaks and dirt in some places. Looked swept but not mopped maybe. Railings on the back were rotted in some places and the grill was very dirty with grease and residue. Stove top had grease on it. Bathrooms were small and had no counter space. Head cushions were missing from Hot Tub. Too Small TVs in all of the bedrooms. Many positive comments. Some included: Grill was a very good size and worked well. Downstairs was fabulous with room for 10 to be comfortable and spend time together. Kitchen was very nice and hot tub was a very nice size and shape. Video Game and Pool Table were nice.  Again, none of the negative items were major issues and given all of the other positive feedback, overall a very successful effort. In summary, lots of space, very functional, excellent customer care. We would recommend this company and unit.

Nice, large property. Great for families!
The cabin was very beautiful. There were a couple of minor issues e.g. the pool table wasn't level and the accessories were not in good condition either. But the space was perfect for my group and we would stay again.
