The Sugar Shack
A jewel box of a cabin, The Sugar Shack is perfect for a romantic getaway. But if you want to bring the kids along, that’s fine too: The cabin is basically one large, beautifully furnished space that includes a sumptuous king-size bed and a futon sofa that opens into a bed for 2.
A cathedral ceiling and a wall of windows give The Sugar Shack an airy, open feel. The sunlight accentuates the luster of the wood-planked floors; the dancing flames of the gas fireplace bathe the log walls in a golden glow. Recliners in the living area invite you to kick back and watch a movie on the flat-panel TV with cable and a DVD player or to cozy up with a book while listening to music on the surround-sound system; the futon couch is ideal for snuggling with your sweetie while enjoying after-dinner drinks.
The Sugar Shack includes a fully equipped kitchen for preparing romantic dinners for 2 or whipping up pancake breakfasts for 4. From refrigerator/freezer to oven/stove, from blender to coffee maker, the kitchen is equipped with all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you’ll need. Two can dine at the breakfast bar, or you can take your meal outside and sit at the covered deck’s patio table, which seats 4.
The deck is also where you’ll find the hot tub. Start your morning with a soak among the wrens and warblers singing in the surrounding trees; end your evening luxuriating in the steamy bubbles beneath a canopy of stars. If you prefer to soak indoors, you can do that too, in the jetted tub beside the lofty 4-poster bed. There’s nothing like the massaging jets of water to ease your weary muscles after a day of hiking, biking, or rafting… or to put you in the mood for romance.
Of course, The Sugar Shack also has a separate bathroom with plenty of storage and all the clean towels you could possibly need. The cabin even includes its own washer and dryer—here’s your chance to return home from vacation with a suitcase full of clean clothes for once.
The Sugar Shack is located in the Alpine Mountain Village resort, which has numerous amenities of its own. In summer you can make a splash at the resort’s outdoor swimming pool, then dry off on a poolside chaise. There’s a walking trail that passes by a spring-fed brook, a covered picnic pavilion, and a play area for little ones.
Best of all, the resort is close to just about everything there is to see and do in Pigeon Forge. The parkway is actually within walking distance; that’s where you’ll find the Titanic Museum, a huge outlet mall, dinner theaters, restaurants, and more. Dollywood, the Gatlinburg Golf Course, and Parrot Mountain and Gardens are all less than 15 minutes away. Drive another 10 minutes and you can be hiking, biking, or horseback riding among the splendor of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or exploring downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Adventure, an aquarium, thrill rides, arcades, and more.
Life is sweet when you stay at The Sugar Shack, and you’re certain to make delicious memories that will last a lifetime. Don’t delay: Make your reservation today. We look forward to seeing you!
