Set on 2.5 acres of old-growth woodlands with views of the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Scenic Solitude certainly lives up to its name. But while the cabin, which sleeps 4, offers exceptional privacy and serenity, it’s also just 10 minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, home to the Titanic Museum, WonderWorks, the Tanger outlet mall, dinner theaters, go-kart tracks, amusement parks, and more.
An A-frame log cabin with a huge wraparound deck, Scenic Solitude is picture-perfect. Large windows enable you to relish the view even as you relax in the spacious great room. Roll-arm leather couches invite you to settle back and watch TV, play cards, or bask in the golden warmth of the wood-burning fireplace. You can shoot pool too, at the great room’s full-size billiard table. Just don’t let the scenery distract you from your game!
When it comes to meals, you’ll have plenty of options. Scenic Solitude is only a short drive from scores of restaurants that specialize in everything from Southern favorites to pizza. If you’d rather eat in, you can gather at the indoor dining table, which seats 4, or dine on the deck. The songbirds provide the perfect alfresco soundtrack, and the fresh mountain breeze complements every dish. You can cook outdoors too, on the charcoal grill, or in the fully equipped kitchen. Whether you’re preparing a holiday feast or breakfast smoothies, you’ll find all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you could possibly need. The kitchen has a dishwasher as well, leaving you more time to sit on one of the deck rockers and revel in nature’s grandeur. And speaking of timesaving conveniences, the cabin has its own washer and dryer too.
Catching up on your sleep is one of the great pleasures of a getaway. Scenic Solitude’s 2 en-suite sleeping areas are restful retreats in and of themselves. Because it’s an open space, the loft isn’t technically a bedroom, but it certainly feels as luxurious as a fine hotel suite. Clad in lustrous wood and boasting a vaulted ceiling, it includes a hickory-frame king-size bed, enviable vintage furnishings, and a TV with satellite channels and a DVD player. Flanking the bed are nightstands with lamps so that one of you can stay up late reading while the other falls asleep. In lieu of a shower, the private bathroom has a sumptuous Jacuzzi. Your muscles will really appreciate the massaging jets of water after a day of hiking, biking, or chasing the kids around Dollywood.
The main floor’s suite includes a log-frame queen-size bed as well as its own TV and DVD player. Like the loft, it too has bedside reading lamps and a ceiling fan; if the hooting of owls and chirping of crickets don’t lull you to sleep, the gentle breeze of the fan surely will. The 2nd bathroom features a shower instead of a tub. You can still enjoy a restorative soak, however: The deck includes a large hot tub. Soaking beneath the stars while whip-poor-wills sing is certain to encourage sweet dreams.
Scenic Solitude has a creek located down below the lodge, relax on the deck and listen to the creek babbling downstream.
In addition to being close to the Pigeon Forge Parkway, Scenic Solitude is only minutes from many other area attractions. You can drive to Dollywood and Parrot Mountain and Gardens, for instance, in 20 minutes. A few minutes more and you can be hitting the slopes of Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, exploring the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on foot, bike, or horseback, or taking in the attractions of downtown Gatlinburg, which include the Guinness World Records Adventure and Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.
However you spend your day, you’ll love returning to the quiet and beauty of Scenic Solitude. Book your stay today, and get ready for what might be your best vacation yet.
Please remember that Gatlinburg and the surrounding area is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. Inclement weather can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. We strongly recommend four-wheel drive and/or chains during the winter months.
