Description for Resting Bears
A three-bedroom cabin with an awe-inspiring view of the Great Smoky Mountains, Resting Bears is tailor-made for a rejuvenating, restorative getaway. Not only are the surroundings stunning and serene, but the cabin itself is a haven of calm and comfort. Every element of the home, from the outdoor hot tub to the deck’s fireplace to the great room’s wall of windows, encourages relaxation.
Located in Gatlinburg’s private Cobbly Nob neighborhood—itself set within a 1,000-acre resort—Resting Bears has a back deck that stretches the width of the house and looks out over woodlands toward the Smoky Mountains. Enjoy your morning coffee while kicking back on one of the rocking chairs or sprawled out on a chaise; there’s no better way to start the day. At one end of the deck, a screened enclosure houses a hot tub, where you can luxuriate among the steamy bubbles without the intrusion of insects. The other end of the deck features both a fireplace (so that you can stargaze on chilly autumn evenings) and a ceiling fan (so that you can linger over an alfresco lunch even during the heat of the summer).
You don’t have to be on the deck to revel in the beauty surrounding Resting Bears. The great room’s wall of picture windows floods the space with sunlight and lets you gaze out at the mountains even as you stretch out on one of the leather sofas to watch TV, gather at the card table to play rummy, or sit back on the glider with your tablet to surf the web (Resting Bears has free WiFi). The wood-planked walls, the sloped and beamed ceiling, and the stone-surround fireplace are ideal complements to the majestic beauty on the other side of the windows.
In addition to the card table, which seats four, the great room has a dining table that can accommodate six people. What with the elegant furnishings and the stunning mountain view, you might opt to eat many, if not most, of your meals in. You don’t have to rely on takeout, though; Resting Bears’ kitchen is equipped with appliances, cookware and tableware galore. There’s even a dishwasher because nobody wants to scrub plates while on vacation.
Resting Bears’ three bedrooms can sleep up to eight people, and there’s a full bathroom for each bedroom, which will make everyone’s morning routine stress-free. Each room also includes updated TV boxes for HD/DVR and app capabilities. The spacious primary bedroom includes a king-size bed, flat-screen TV and spacious bathroom with a jetted tub. You’ll really appreciate its massaging jets when you return from a day of hiking, skiing or exploring every inch of Dollywood.
The second bedroom features a queen-size bed, another flat-panel TV, and perhaps best of all, doors that open directly onto the deck. You can slip out at night for a romantic drink in the moonlight or head out first thing in the morning to watch the sunrise without waking the others. The third bedroom sleeps up to four people in two sets of twin-size bunk beds. The kids will love this room: There’s plenty of space for them to spread out with their games and toys, and as with the other bedrooms, there’s a flat-screen TV.
For your convenience, a brand new washer and dryer are now available at Resting Bears.
When you stay at Resting Bears between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you’ll have free access to Cobbly Nob’s two pool areas. What’s more, at the foot of the resort is the award-winning Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by legendary golfer Gary Player. Just slightly farther afield are the restaurants, shops and amusements of downtown Gatlinburg; the Great Smoky Mountains National Park; and the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an eight-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios and shops.
No matter how you spend your days, you’ll relish returning to the pleasures of Resting Bears. Experience its calm and beauty for yourself: Make your reservation today!

Reviews for Resting Bears
Perfect!
Love this cabin. It was perfect! Good location had everything that you would want in a cabin! Beds comfortable the view is amazing, perfect location and all on one floor. My husband and I are going to Gatlinburg again and wanted to rent this cabin again but could not find it for rent so had to book another one. Our family all would love to go back to this cabin again.
Great week in the Smoky’s!
Very nice home. Beautiful views!! A little farther from town than we usually stay but tried out new hikes and places in the park since we were closer to them ( Cosby & Big Creek areas/hikes). Also fun to see more wildlife near by: mama bear & two cubs, beaver, geese, turkeys, etc. Overall accommodations & amenities were fantastic! Would book again!
Amazing and relaxing!
Our family had a wonderful experience at Resting Bear. We loved the cabin...comfy beds...spectacular view of the mountains...we even saw a bear in the yard two days in a row :) Would love to return next year.
Great View in a charming cabin
We had a great stay at resting bear cabin. The cabin has a fantastic view from the back porch. The cabin was clean but needs a little updating (ex. Sheets, towels, rugs are a little worn). Also the cabin is 20 minutes north of Gatlinburg, which is something to consider when planning your trip. The hot tub was screened in which was a nice bonus.
Amazing
The cabin and view was so beautiful. My family had the best time. I wish we had a few more days there. Best vacation!!
