The first thing you’ll notice as you drive up to the lodge-style cabin are the two decks that span the front of the home. Looking out over the old-growth trees toward the Great Smoky Mountains, the decks are furnished with plenty of chairs so that you can enjoy the vistas to their fullest. The top deck even has a log table so that you can dine alfresco. The lower deck goes one better: It features a hot tub! As if lazing among the steamy bubbles weren’t relaxing enough, wait until you do so as the sun sets over the mountains while the breeze whispers through the trees—sheer bliss!
More delights await you inside. The downstairs game room includes a pool table; if you’ve never played, here’s your chance to learn, in private rather than in your crowded local bar. The game room also has a TV with cable and a DVD player, as does the living area on the main floor, one flight above. When you’re not watching a movie or a big game in the living room, you can sprawl out on the carpet to play with the kids or gather around the gas fireplace with friends on a winter evening. Or maybe you want to simply stretch out on one of the couches and gaze out at the large windows at the woodlands and mountains before indulging in a nap.
Because Peace 'N Quiet is so close to downtown Gatlinburg, you have plenty of restaurants to choose from within a five-minute drive. Sometimes, though, it’s more relaxing to eat in. Not only does Peace 'N Quiet have a dining table on the deck, but inside there’s an even larger table, just steps from the well-equipped kitchen. You’ll find all the appliances, accessories, cookware, and tableware you need to host a holiday feast if you’re so inclined—and there’s even a dishwasher to make cleanup a breeze.
Peace 'N Quiet has three bedrooms, one on each of its three floors. All three qualify as primary suites, with a king-size bed, a TV, a private full bathroom, and plenty of storage. The bedroom on the top floor offers slightly more privacy, as it’s the only room on that level. The downstairs bedroom, however, has the advantage of being just steps from the pool table and the hot tub, while the main floor’s bedroom is next to the kitchen, should you crave a midnight snack!
Have additional guests stayed the night? Not a problem: The game room’s sofa and one of the living room’s sofas each open in a bed for two, so that Peace 'N Quiet can sleep up to ten people in all.
Because Peace 'N Quiet is located in the forty-three acre Black Bear Falls Log Home Community, when you stay you can take advantage of the resort’s two heated swimming pools, one of which is a kiddie pool, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. And any time of year is a great one for exploring the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, waterfalls, fishing, horseback riding, and so much more, or the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an eight-mile trail of galleries, studios, and crafts shops. Also, just a short drive away are Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, golf courses, white-water rafting, fishing, and Dollywood.
Peace 'N Quiet makes it easy to enjoy all the attractions that the Gatlinburg area has to offer. And when you return to the cabin, you can revel in the peace and quiet that its name promises. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? So go ahead—book your stay today!
