Description for Mountain Top Perched alongside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with a private trail that leads from its back door directly to the park, Mountain Top offers awe-inspiring views. And you don’t need to be out on the porch or the upper deck to revel in the scenery. A panoply of picture windows let you gaze out at the mountains, the woodlands, and the boundless skies from just about every room in the 2-bedroom home.

The living room, for instance, features an entire wall of windows looking out onto the mountains and flooding the space with sunlight during the day. When you’re not gazing out from the comfort of the roll-arm leather sofa, you can curl up in an armchair with a book or your tablet (Mountain Top has free WiFi), or you can watch a movie on the TV, which has cable and a DVD player. The room includes a stereo system with a CD player, as well as a library of discs to listen to.

The eat-in kitchen is impressively well equipped. Along with a table that easily seats 4, it’s chock-full of appliances, cookware, and tableware. There’s ample storage too, so you can stock up on groceries at the start of your stay, rather than having to waste precious time heading back and forth to the supermarket. And when you’re craving barbecue, you can take advantage of the grill just outside.

Mountain Top has one bedroom on the main floor and the 2nd in the loft. Each includes a wall of windows facing the Smokies so that you can open your eyes in the morning to the sight of mist rising over the peaks. The main floor’s bedroom includes a queen-size bed and a jetted tub large enough to accommodate 2 people. The tub is set alongside the windows, perfect for relishing a romantic late-night soak with your special someone.

The upstairs bedroom features a king-size bed. The room sits alongside the upper deck, which is furnished with a table and chairs. Head outside early in the morning to watch the sunrise, or slip out before bed for a nightcap and a spot of stargazing. Should you have additional guests, they can sleep on the loft’s 2 futons, which open into twin-size beds.

Mountain Top includes a full bathroom on each floor as well. Tucked in a closet of the upstairs bathroom you’ll find a washer and dryer, so you can pack lighter than usual. In fact, you don’t need to bring any towels or bedding at all; we’ll supply them all.

Like the rest of Mountain Top, the porch has been designed to make the most of the spectacular scenery. The porch swing is an especially inviting perch for listening to sparrows and larks greet the day. And when you return from hiking, fishing, rafting, or skiing, you’ll want to make a beeline to the outdoor hot tub; its massaging jets of water are sure to revitalize your weary muscles.

Mountain Top’s proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park makes it a dream getaway for anyone who looks forward to exploring the park’s trails, waterfalls, and historic cabins. That’s not the only attraction near the home, however. Despite its private locale, Mountain Top is only a few miles from Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by Masters and British Open champion Gary Player. And when you visit during the summer, you’ll have free access to a nearby swimming pool.

What’s more, Mountain Top is less than a half-hour from downtown Gatlinburg. That’s where you’ll find the Guinness World Records Museum, an aquarium, thrill rides, and the tram that carries you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, among other attractions.

Then again, the landscape surrounding Mountain Top is so glorious and tranquil, you might want to spend most of your time relaxing right there. And why not: It’s your vacation, so enjoy it however you want. First, though, you need to make your reservation—do it today, before someone beats you to it.

Guest Rating for Mountain Top
Great location. Far enough from busy Gatlinburg but reasonable drive to National Park.
This cabin was very quiet and secluded with nice views of Smokey Mtns range, yet a reasonable drive to the Smokey Mountain National Park and Gatlinburg. It was very well furnished and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay very much.
The cabin was in very good shape, decorated very nicely , it had everything we needed and more, the views were breathtaking and we loved it! A little scary drive to the cabin because you are in the mountains and it’s a little narrow and steep, but the views of the mountain we’re definitely worth it
Relaxing, secluded mountain top retreat
Absolutely loved the quietness. Looking for a secluded cabin but near a lot and a pool to use as well? This is the place!!
Beautiful cabin with breathtaking views of the mountains
The cabin was very clean , well-maintained , and well stocked . I love how it was decorated. It has multiple windows so you can enjoy the breathtaking views. The hot tub was very relaxing. The only part that was scary was the drive up to the cabin, the roads are very steep and narrow with drop off’s, not uncommon for mountain driving, but if you are not used to that kind of driving it’s a little nerve-racking, but once you make it up there the views are worth the drive . I chose this cabin because of other reviews saying they had spotted bear near the cabin, I have always wanted to see a bear in the wild, after going to Cades Cove, spending the day in the mountains, keeping my eyes open for every chance I could to see one, I was so excited on the last day at the cabin to look out the window and walking up the driveway was a mama bear and two cubs, they walked past our car and through to the back area where the grill is, we watched her teach the baby cubs how to dig in the dirt for ants, after about 10 minutes, they moved up the hill, we had just come inside from sitting on the front porch on the swing, before we saw them so be very aware of your surroundings at all times while outside. I would definitely go back, we truly enjoyed this beautiful cabin
We had a great time. It was very clean and secluded and quiet. The only complaint was that the hottub looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, so we didn't really want to use it. But the jacuzzi in the bedroom made up for it. The view was incredible. We would definitely come back, and probably will.
Breath taking view of the Smokey Mountains
My husband and three children loved our stay here, and hope to return in the future. The house was beautiful, very clean, and had everything we needed. After days of hiking and fun in Gatlinburg, it was the perfect place to unwind and relax with the family. The pictures don't due justice to show how beautiful the Mountain Top is.  We spent the mornings on the balcony, where I briefly saw a black bear! We spent the late evenings evenings counting starts. All in all, it was a very relaxing vacation!
Great View
About 15-20 minutes to Gatlinburg and away from the the congestion, lights, and sounds - exactly what we wanted. Gas, groceries, and a couple places to eat within a short drive. Not too big and not too small with the amenities of home. We used the hot tub a couple times, but got back too late at night to use the pool. Access is a winding uphill drive with switchbacks, probably not the place for a sports car - just something to be aware of - and we scraped the bottom of the minivan a couple times - once in the driveway and once on the switchback. One minor complaint was the basic cable package and fuzzy standard def signal - but this is not why we went to the Smokies!
Had a great time. Everything was perfect.
My family and I had a wonderful stay.
Stunning Views! Comfy and homey!
Saw three bear cubs and a momma our first morning! The cubs were trying to take apart the gas grill and another snacked on the grill brush! Needless to say we had a Birdseye view of the antics from the kitchen window!  The cabin was lovely, nicely equipped and decorated! We will return!
Nice mountain views and hot tub was excellent under the clear night sky. THANKS!
Private and cozy cabin.
