Description for Marlene's Hideaway
A three-bedroom, A-shape log cabin, Marlene’s Hideaway is a delight in and of itself. Making it even more enticing is its location within the White Oak Resort. Not only is the resort packed with amenities, but it is also just a short drive from area’s numerous attractions.
Resembling an Alpine chalet, but set among the towering trees and foothills of the Smoky Mountains, Marlene’s Hideaway can sleep as many as six people in comfort and rustic style. The primary bedroom, located on the main floor, features a comfortable king-size bed with a well-padded leather headboard, so that you can easily prop yourself up to read, watch TV, or surf the web while remaining cozy beneath the covers. The other two bedrooms, each of which has a log-frame queen-size bed, are upstairs. All three bedrooms include a TV, a ceiling fan, and lustrous wood-planked walls, floors, and ceilings.
Each floor has its own bathroom, and each bathroom includes dual sinks and vanities so that everyone can get prepped and primped in record time. The upstairs bathroom has an additional perk: a jetted tub. After hiking, skiing, or experiencing every ride at Dollywood, a long soak is just the rejuvenation you’ll need!
The open, airy living/dining/kitchen area makes up most of the main floor. Here, too, you’ll find gleaming wood walls, floors, and ceilings. On chilly winter evenings the flicker from the stone-surround fireplace will bathe them in a golden glow. Add to that the supreme comfort of the leather couches and you might never want to leave. Luckily there’s free WiFi and a flat-screen TV with cable to keep you entertained as laze.
The handsome dining table seats six, and the cushioned chairs will encourage you to linger long after the dessert course. The kitchen, clad in black granite and the same richly figured wood as the rest of Marlene’s Hideaway, is equipped with just about every appliance, tool, and gadget you could possibly need. Even if you eat your main meals at the numerous nearby restaurants, you’ll appreciate having a coffeemaker for your morning cup of joe, a blender for mixing smoothies in the morning and margaritas at night, and a refrigerator/freezer where you can store milk, juice, and ice cream.
Marlene’s Hideaway has both a front porch and a rear deck, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to revel in the mountain breezes and the singing of wrens, larks, and warblers. The screened-in rear deck is home to the outdoor hot tub. A soak with friends is a wonderful way to end an action-packed day.
Because Marlene’s Hideaway is located within Gatlinburg’s White Oak Resort, during your stay you can take advantage of the resort’s many amenities. During the warm-weather months these include a large outdoor swimming pool with a grotto and a waterfall that the kids will love playing in. Surrounding the pool is a patio furnished with plenty of chaises where you can soak up the sun, plus a soothing whirlpool. The resort also has outdoor gas grills, tennis courts, basketball hoops, and horseshoe pits.
You could easily while away entire days without leaving the resort’s premises. That said, you’ll want to take advantage of the cabin’s proximity to the local attractions. For instance, Marlene’s Hideaway is only five minutes from Climb Works, where you can get a bird’s-eye view of the mountains while zip lining. Just a bit farther in the opposite direction is the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile trail of shops, studios, and galleries. Just 15 minutes from the cabin is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and in less than 20 minutes you can drive to downtown Gatlinburg, home to thrill rides, restaurants, distilleries, arcades, shops, and more.

Reviews for Marlene's Hideaway
Wonderful Stay
The house is beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Marlene's Hideaway
Very Beautiful cabin, open concept, kitchen, living room area. Has everything you need except, clothes and groceries! About 10 miles from Gatlinburg TN. Wish we had more time to relax, but there for Wedding!
Family Vacation
My family had the pleasure of staying at Marlene's Hideaway in July. We loved the cabin layout which was nice and open, the beautiful wood interior and the front porch that looked out over the mountains. The accommodations were perfect for five people and very comfortable. The kitchen appliances were just what we needed for cooking. We were hoping for more dishes such as bowls for serving our food but everything else was satisfactory. The kids loved the hot tub but did say that the temperature got too hot and the controls did not work well. The community pool and other amenities were perfect and we loved being outside of Gatlinburg but not too far. We would recommend this cabin to friends and would definitely stay here again
Great Stay!!
I highly recommend staying with Mountain Rentals of Gatlinburg. We have stayed with them several times over the years and have found the quality of cabins to be superior! The staff is always polite and professional, and I can honestly say a lot of the staff in which we first booked with in 2007, are still around today. The cabin was extremely nice, updated, and great for a family with kids. The hot tub is located in the rear of the home, very private, which was nice after a long day of running around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, to be able to come back and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The cabin is very easy to locate, and only a few minutes from Gatlinburg. The resort on which the cabin is located is a real plus. Basketball, Tennis Courts, and a pool within walking distance of the cabin. I could go on and on about this cabin but you get the picture, I highly recommend Marlene's Hideway, it is definitely a keeper. We will be back very soon.
