Description for Hibernation Station
Start your morning at Hibernation Station sipping coffee on your private balcony while watching the mist lift from the Great Smoky Mountains. Spend your day hiking in the national park or exploring the numerous attractions of downtown Gatlinburg, both of which are just 10 minutes away. Return to your cabin for a soak in the hot tub or a pre-bedtime snack with the whole gang out on the deck, pointing out the constellations in the night sky. When you stay at Hibernation Station, you can do all that, and much more.
Hibernation Station is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom cabin that sleeps up to 10 people. The en-suite bedrooms are spread out, one on each floor, for maximum privacy. In fact, the master suite makes up the entire loft level. A haven in and of itself, it includes a king-size bed, its own bathroom and perhaps best of all, a large jetted tub. If there’s a better way to unwind after a day on the go than with a soak in a private whirlpool tub, we’ve yet to discover it! A walkway connects the master suite to the balcony. Furnished with two armchairs and a table, the balcony looks out directly onto the Smoky Mountains. You and your sweetheart can enjoy a romantic nightcap out here, just the pair of you, before calling it a night.
The second bedroom is on the main floor. With a king-size bed, flat-screen TV and private bathroom among its amenities, the room makes Hibernation Station as well suited for two couples or two families as it is for one. The beamed ceiling and the wood-planked walls add to its rustic charm.
Also on Hibernation Station’s main floor is the great room. This open-plan space allows everyone to spend time together without feeling crowded or constricted. With two leather sofas and a glider with matching ottoman, the living area encourages you to relax in both comfort and style. When you’re not watching a movie on the flat-screen TV, you can surf the web via the free Wi-Fi, enjoy après-ski drinks by the gas fireplace or sprawl out on the rug with the kids and play Candyland.
Also part of the great room, the kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, cookware and tableware. The adjacent dining area easily seats six, though you might want to bring your meal outdoors. The main level’s deck features a live-edge wood counter and stools so that you can eat out alfresco, watching falcons and eagles soar above the mountains and listening to the breeze rustling through the trees. You can cook outdoors too, on the deck’s grill. In addition, the lower deck has its own bistro table for 4.
Hibernation Station’s lower deck also houses the hot tub. It’s the perfect spot for savoring the sunset. Indoors, the lower level is home to the game room. The kids can hang out here, watching TV and playing at the arcade table, while the adults chat—or maybe sneak in a nap!—in the great room above. To the rear of the game room are bunk beds. The downstairs has a separate bedroom as well. Furnished with twin-over-queen bunk beds and a trundle bed, this room is great for parents who need to be in the same room as their little ones. Or you can put all the kids in here; every night will be a slumber party!
Hibernation Station is located in the Mountain Shadows Resort. In the summer you can swim for free in the resort’s outdoor pool, and year-round you can take advantage of its playground, which includes a volleyball net, a basketball court, and horseshoes. Just beyond the resort—less than a mile away, to be precise—is the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community. You can drive to both the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and downtown Gatlinburg in only 10 minutes, and to Dollywood in a half-hour.

Reviews for Hibernation Station
Wonderful home!
This is a well-furnished and lovely place to relax. Minutes from gatlinburg, we went from the house to Obergatlinburg for skiing. The decks, the grill, the hot tub, the well-supplied kitchen, and the Christmas decorations throughout the home made for a lovely visit. We’d definitely rent again!
Spacious and comfortable cabin in a beautiful setting! Would definitely recommend highly!
