Description for A Great Escape
As its name suggests, A Great Escape has everything you need for a fabulous getaway. A pool table, 4 TVs with satellite channels, 3 Blu-ray players, and WiFi will keep everyone entertained; the outdoor hot tub, indoor jetted tub, and 2 king-size beds ensure plenty of R and R. And the location, less than 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, provides easy access to restaurants, hiking, golfing, skiing, shops, amusement parks, and more.
You’ll feel right at home as soon as you drive up to one of the cabin’s 4 parking spaces (that’s right, 4 spaces—perfect if you’re planning on having company). A wide, welcoming deck wraps around the 2-story home, and the covered front porch is furnished with rockers, a bench swing, and ceiling fans. Go ahead, sit back and gaze out at the Great Smoky Mountains from one of these seats before you even open the door; it’s tough to resist!
A Great Escape’s living room is nearly as gorgeous as the mountain view. The wood walls, floors, and vaulted ceiling gleam; the roomy sofa and armchairs invite you to curl up with a good book or stretch out to watch a favorite show on the flat-panel TV. In winter the room is especially cozy, thanks to the gas fireplace, but any time of year it’s a convivial, beautifully furnished spot for hanging out with friends and family or indulging in some private time.
Mealtime provides more opportunity for spending time with the gang. The kitchen is equipped with sparkling stainless-steel appliances, including a Keurig coffee system and a dishwasher, and there’s plenty of counter space should you plan to prepare a multicourse feast. If you prefer cooking outdoors, you’ll love the outdoor electric grill. There’s even a table on the porch so that you can eat as well as cook alfresco.
Back inside, the breakfast bar seats four, and the adjacent dining table seats six. After you’ve cleared the dishes, bring out the card deck or Scrabble set and make it a game night. Or maybe you’ll want to head upstairs to the loft, where you can shoot some pool on the full-size billiard table, crank up the tunes courtesy of the iPod stereo dock, watch a movie on the 42” HDTV with Blu-ray player, or make yourselves comfortable at the pub table and enjoy an drink while admiring the view. br>
Another option: head out to the hot tub on the deck. No need to wait till after dinner, either; day or night, you’ll revel in the steamy bubbles (though it is especially romantic at night when you can gaze up at the stars while serenaded by the shooting of far-off owls).
We haven’t even mentioned the bedrooms yet. There’s one on each floor, and both are true primary bedrooms, with a king-size bed, a flat-panel TV, and plenty of storage. Need to sleep another 2 guests? The loft has a twin bunk bed.
There’s a full bathroom on each floor as well. The loft bathroom has a bonus: its own jetted tub! When you arrive at A Great Escape, the beds will be freshly made, laundered towels ready and waiting, and the hot tub sanitized and filled with fresh water.
You could easily spend a happy, restful vacation at A Great Escape without ever leaving the cabin. But there’s so much to see and do just a short drive away. You’ll be in the midst of the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an 8-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and craft shops offering everything from stained glass to chainsaw art, custom knives to pottery. And let’s not forget the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls, and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk, Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, and Dollywood…
Whether you’re seeking plenty of action or days of relaxation, you’ll find it when you stay at A Great Escape. So book your stay today, and start planning your escape!
